We are seeking work-camping positions beginning in April 2019. Both of us are in good physical condition with no medical issues. David is 67, and Paula is 64. We have been work camping for almost 2 years and have truly enjoyed the variety of what we have chosen to do.
David has a bachelors degree in Civil Engineering and worked in the family-owned heavy construction business for 10 years. He has been a self-employed computer programmer for the last 35 years. Support continues for a limited number of customers as they migrate to other providers for IT service and support. Over the years he has written many custom applications, and has built and serviced various computers and network configurations.
Paula retired from UPS in March 2017 after loading and unloading UPS aircraft for 16 years. While her primary job was on the ramp, she was a member of the health and safety committee, and was certified as a Medical and Hazardous-Materials first responder. During the last 10 years of employment, she was involved in training new employees for positions such as hers.
We began in a tent and now have a 2015 fifth wheel trailer. We are flexible with regard to the types of work to be performed. In addition to computer skills, I am comfortable with plumbing, electrical, and carpentry. I have a passion for using the right tool for each job, and having the tools to do the job correctly. When we sold our home, I parted with many of my tools but still have a variety of hand and power tools. I have operated a ZTR mower, backhoe, loader, and bobcat. Paula has great “people skills” (easy to talk to, for positions such as customer service), basic computer skills, and is capable of physical labor as well. We prefer to find opportunities that allow both of us to work on the same schedule (not necessarily doing the same thing).
Both Paula and I are veterans, having served in the US Army and the US Army Reserve. We can provide personal and professional references upon request. We look forward to discussing volunteer opportunities. Please email us using opportunites@masterstouch.net. Thank you for your consideration. We look forward to hearing from you.
